I know he's not the prophet but he's ordained to be our spiritual leader and so he should be pretty close to God. Sometimes it's hard to take their advice or council because it is humbling and/or hard to hear. But, in my experience, once I did "give in" and took their advice, things seemed to work out for the better. Does that make sense? I guess to answer your question...in my opinion...when you're in that type of setting...the advice IS council. When we know we are in the right, it doesn't ususally require justification.
