		<description>I don't think it's heretical to say the Nephites lived in only 72 (or 154 or whatever) years of peace. I think it's fun to delve a little bit further and actually take time to better consider the stories we think we know so well! Thanks, Dad.

I don't know where you're taught these things, but I've never been taught a specific number (or a rounded number) for the years of peace.&#62;8p
Also, I don't know if I entirely agree with your statement that the peace ended when the first group broke off and became Lamanites. That is not necassarily what Mormon thought or anyone else (though it could be, of course). It all depends on how history is looked at. You could say we had peace during the entire Clinton administration since we never really had a "war." However, we had the conflict in Bosnia and another in Haiti that our troops were involved in, not to mention pulling out of Somalia. Etc etc.
