I know! The thing is that he is a really sweet little boy and he's never carried out such a threat. But just the fact that he says that stuff is weird.

I swear that we aren't teaching it to him.

To randomJohn

Actually, for a three-year to say that, well,.......that isn't very funny. Disturbing is more like it. Those are quite graphic threats.

We took our kids and my youngest son's friend out for breakfast this morning. My son's friend is diabetic and we were talking about it. My youngest, Elijah, said, "Mom, didn't you get diabetes because of me?"

I said, "No. I found out I had diabetes because of you. I already had it when I got pregnant, but didn't know it until you came along."

My husband said to Elijah, "And it almost killed you!"

I asked Elijah if he knew that he'd turned blue and stopped breathing when he was born.

Elijah said, "Yeah I tell people about that all the time." He paused to consider for a moment, then added, "It's awesome that we have so many cool stories to share. Most people don't have a lot of crazy stuff happen."

Something good happened to me today. We were at a kiddie birthday party at a Chuck-E-Cheese type place and I sat down to play a racing game with my son. I noticed that the coin slot was all messed up. I poked at it a bit and found that the lock was off and the thing swung open. At the same time about eight coins came out of the coin return. Like a good little boy scout I told the people about it and showed them the coins I collected from it and they let me keep them. Yipee! It's a dream come true, you know, to actually find coins in the coin return. For some reason, I just can't resist checking, but you never find anything. After so much failure, success is sweet.

Reminds me of a Letterman feature. I don't remember why, but Letterman ran out of the auditorium, through the lobby, and out onto the street. A camera on the street focused on a phone booth as Letterman ran by. A few moments after he passed, he comes back into frame to check the coin return of the pay phone. I thought that was hilarious.

My youngest always said/says stuff like that too. (He's the 12yo I mentioned in the post.) Except we always have laughed at him, and he always get madder when we do.

I almost shared the story about when we were laughing over a Spongebob episode where Patrick eats a lollipop so fast, he thinks someone else must've stolen it, and right after we all laughed about it, my son accused his brother of eating the churro he'd just wolfed down. He seriously thought someone had taken it. We call it The Churro Incident, and we still laugh about it---even my youngest. Who then gets mad all over again because SOMEONE ATE HIS CHURRO.

Most of my stories worth sharing are actually the stuff our 3 year old says. For instance when he is mad we've gotten the following:

I'm going to bash your head and spill out your brains!

I'm going to kick you and see whats inside you!

I'm going to bite you and put you in my tummy!

I'm going to say mean things and make you sad!

I have no idea where he learned these things. Maybe pre-school. He knows that he gets a time-out for threats, so it isn't like we just sit there and laugh when he says this stuff.

I probably shouldn't post this. They'll use it against him at the eventual trial, won't they?

<i>So I ask you, what was a good day you had that gave you a good story to share?</i>

There was <a href="http://www.bloggerofjared.com/2007/02/08/wearing-shorts-at-church-a-good-story-from-my-mission/" rel="nofollow">this one</a>.

I think the best stories are those of bad days becoming good days, but good days becomeing better days are just as good.

It is change that makes the story good, I guess.

Awesome.

I think I read somewhere that the reason some heiroglyphs look like doodlings of a sex-crazed 14 year old is because they probably are.
