MCQ, I should mention that I also like putting the BoM musical in the plus column. I have not seen it (not for lack of trying) and I know there are some parts of it that most LDS would find offensive. But it really does signal a coming of age of sorts for Mormons and the LDS Church.

Good thoughts CJ. I also loved the attention given to people like Bowman and Brooks. Those two in particular represented us well in my opinion. I also think people like Elna Baker got increased attention during this time, and I'm ok with that too.

I never heard Romney mentioned over the pulpit, but I'm not surprised in happened in some locations. It was certainly hinted at by some commenters in GD lessons in my neck of the woods.

I second the O'Donnell gripe, but its mostly a disappointment in the MSM for letting such garbage on the air. (Of course, liberals have been raking Evangelicals for years - and the Right, Muslims.) On the other hand, I was actually proud of some of my favorite commentators (Maddow) who seemed to avoid the Mormon question at every turn (even when it was right overthe plate).

My favorite part of the last few years has been the rising voices from indy Mormon Scholars like Matt Bowman or JBrooks - which seems to also have had a positive effect on Mormon Studies and the increased exposure we have to the complexities of our history and doctrine. For example, Bottgate was actually a very good thing for us and it would not have happened IMO without the scrutiny.

My least favorite part was, of course, the mentions of Brother Romney over the pulpit in prayers and testimonies. (only when I left town though, did this happen)
