meems,

Clever, but I'm no good at fooling myself. Same reason why setting a clock ahead 10 minutes wouldn't work on me. Thanks anyway though:)

Rusty,

We already watch "Lost" and it's more of finding all that stuff on the History channel, Discovery, or the National Geographic channel late that's so dang interesting.

Conan's the funniest by far anyway.

Just another example of graffiti spray painted on the scriptures. Should have never been canonized. Safe to ignore this one as long out of date.

I don't think the verse means actual times. I think that it means getting into good habits as far as sleeping, working, and nutrition. I don't think the Lord cares whether it's 6am or 9pm when you arise. I think it's more that He doesn't want us strung out working 36 hours straight, depending on coffee and cigs to get us through another day.

If you're sinning, then thousands of policemen, doctors, nurses, and security guards are going straight to hell. And deserve it they do. Everyone knows that coronaries only happen during business hours ;)

No, no, no, if you're going to be up that late watching tv it should be good tv. Go rent the first and second season of Arrested Development or Lost or Six Feet Under or something and watch that. Don't waste your time waiting for your two laughs from Letterman.

Yes Bret:

Take a trip to a different time zone, get all confused, return, and your jet lag will have you all fixed up on a totally different schedule. Works for me!

This verse has always troubled me because I'm in every way a night owl. I don't mind the early morning when I actually do wake up and am invigorated, (I wish I could do it more often) but that's a rarity.

I've heard numerous opinions, thoughts, and supposed quotes on how the morning is when your mind is clearest and most attuned to the spirit.

There may be some truth to that but some of my poorest grades have come from my earliest classes.

None of this is encouraging seeing as I'm trying to get a job right now as a school teacher! Does anyone have any tips on how to turn a night owl into an early bird?

I was thinking about posting on this same thing Don. I'd say "early" in that verse means early enough. It sounds to me like waking up at 9:00-9:30 AM is early enough for you.

If you're worried (and I doubt you really are) double check with God. I'd be shocked if he cared...
