See my latest post on why this view you and many others have of post-mortality won’t work.]]>
I’m just saying that by making certain choices we become more Christlike, we are given more opportunities to progress, and that progression will take a big jump during the Millenium. I look at it as the final preparation under His direction and His direct influence without Satan to become one with Him.]]>
But I just don’t think we’re going to die and be all organized into wards and have the elitism that exists here and hopefully, not the grief of families. Sorry, guys, family life is not for me.
I think it’s going to be nicer than that. Nothing like this stupid life which I wish I’d never agreed to in the first place.]]>
Maybe that’s why I don’t ever get really interested in these pre- and post-mortal conversations. We know so VERY little (and much of what we think we know is contradicted depending on which leader/GA/prophet you read) and it really doesn’t matter anyway as long as I’m doing everything I can to become like Christ.
But anyway, sorry to interrupt…]]>
We qualified in the pre-mortal existence for this life. Now we need to qualify for the Millenium. In the Millenium we will need to qualify for exaltation. I don’t necessarily think that qualification will be “easy”, but with Christ there and no Satan and 1,000 years I think we can do it.]]>
Thanks for that quote Don. This is precisely the procrastination-inducing type of argument I was referring to in my last post. This is why I think model 2 is not only false, but also dangerous. It leads us to believe that as long as we manage to make the first resurrection it will be a snap to become exalted in the next life. Of course all it takes to make the first resurrection is to live a Terrestrial quality life. So in you model, all one needs to do in this life is avoid enough egregious sin to make the “afternoon of the first resurrection” and then be on spiritual easy street in the Millennium. Not exactly motivation to fully live the law of consecration now is it?
(So while my last post explained why this model you assume (Model 2) is dangerous, my next post will explain why such a model impossible to begin with… stay tuned!)]]>
