Once in town, President Faust, his son, and one or two other men came by the mission office, since (IIRC) the younger Brother Faust had worked there during his own mission.
To my eye, President Faust looked quite different in person than on screen. Most distinct was a rather intense gleam in his eyes. They were the eyes of a Seer, and a Special Witness of Jesus Christ. It was truly striking.
More recently, one of President Faust’s conference talks provided me with some much-needed strength. As I told my daughter (almost 5) this morning (I knew she’d remember him as the one who had spoken from his seat), he’s now gone home to God.]]>
I cried this morning when I found out. I think sometimes we forget (easily) that these men are doing amazing and remarkable service with bodies that are so very, very weak. It shouldn’t have been so shocking that he was at an age to be passing, but it was still surprising to me.]]>
