For me it was Elder Eyring, (excuse me, PRESIDENT Eyring) speaking in Priesthood about staying up all night praying and getting an assurance of how to proceed BUT NOT an assurance on the outcome. I’ve always stuck those together, now I know I need to separate them!

Of course: "Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you" "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge" "Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD" "and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord" "And I command you to do these things in the fear of the Lord;" So fear or no fear?

As an EQ instructor, Elder Oaks’ words about sticking to the manual gave me a bit of concern. I can see some overzealous local leaders trying to police that in too strict a manner.
