Welcome Silus! I visited Spokane before you were born for the Worlds Fair in 1974. “Celebrating a Fresh New Environment” was the theme and the city did an amazing thing in turning the old railroad yard into a beautiful river park. My last visit there was in 1979 when we made a return trip after I graduated from the University of Idaho (go Vandals!) in 1977. Spokane is a beautiful place to start your life. I look forward to your posts.

The “gay” ward? It’s a myth.

Ah, but the myth hangs by its toenails from pieces of reality.

The old Manhattan 3rd Ward (in the late 80′s) covered most of the island south of 42nd Street. I heard a leader of the stake refer to it as the gay ward.

Well, Russell… I most certainly do remember you. You were one of the “smart ones” I secretly worshiped in high school… and my association with your family has been an unmitigated blessing. Your uncle, especially, played a wonderful role in my life.
