Not quite as good as the story about Ramunajan, the Indian mathematical prodigy and G.H. Hardy, the English mathematician.
Ramunajan was in hospital, on his deathbed. One day Hardy entered the room, he said “The taxi I rented today had number 1729. It looked rather a dull number”
Ramanujan replied promptly “No Hardy No!. It is a very exciting number. It is the smalled positive integer that can be written as sum of two cubes in two different way.”
(That’s 1 & 12 or 9 & 10, by the way.)
