I live in So. Cal., so if you plan another get-together, I’d love to come!

I’ve had a solo blog (Did I Digress?) for a little over 6 months, now. I’ve loved having a place to spew my thoughts on everything. (Well, almost everything. I’ve had to put a moratorium on politics and the environment because I would become so upset and use un-charitable language.)

Like a lot of you, I love reading personal blogs. I kind of feel like I’m reading someone’s diary–and I’ve always been nosey like that.

To all who I may have missed, Ack! Man, I tried to find you! I actually went to the blogger i.d.s and went through every one (at the time over 500) searching for those who had “so cal” as part of where they lived. If I found a “so cal” blogger they were given an invitation, whether or not I had read their blog.

I also asked all who received invites to invite all they knew. So much for planning! Sorry, I didn’t mean to be exclusive, except for mileage.

Keep an eye on my blog and hopefully you’ll see the next get-together. Seriously we would love to have everyone there.

Individually some great topics. I would love to have been there when all of them came together in a conversation. One can only imagine……
So far I’m batting a thousand having met internet friends IRL….but I’ve only met one. I think I should quit while I’m ahead.

I’ve been writing on my solo blog for almost three years now and recently discovered group blogs (about 6-9 months ago). I have a lot of friends that I’ve made through blogging; there are a number of people that I feel quite close to that I only know from the internet. I love meeting new friends in person; I’ve done it a few times and it’s great. My blog mostly reflects my interests: I read a lot, I teach at a community college and I’m going back to school for a PhD this fall, I cook and enjoy food, I have two kids, and I’m LDS. Posts kind of cover a bit of all those areas. I went through a bad time in my life and my marriage during the last year or two, and I’ve realized that a lot of my posts reflect that. I’m grateful for my blog as an outlet and for my friends, many of whom I hadn’t even met in person, who sustained me through their comments.
