Welcome to the All-New, Low Fat, Action Packed Nine Moons!

Rusty - July 28, 2006

So I finally got sick enough of Typepad that I’ve decided to drop it and make the inevitable move to WordPress. I’m sure we’ll be here for another five years or so (oh wait, that’s what we say about New York). I like WordPress even if it doesn’t have any outdoor space.

Also, we’d like to welcome three new permabloggers: Davis Bell (formerly of Intellectualxibitionflizmist or whatever and M*), Susan Malmrose (kurrently at Kulturblog and her personal blog WhenIGoDeaf) and Tim Jacob (commenter extraordinaire, fellow Guatemala City Central missionary). I’m glad they’ve agreed to blog here and I expect these new hamsters to help me keep the Nine Moons wheel spinning.

Finally, you’ll notice that the design has changed a little. Hopefully it’s a bit more readable and navigable than 9M.1 and 9M.2. If you have any suggestions to make it better I’d be happy to hear them. If they will make it worse you better just shut your trap.

And finally finally, I want to thank our favorite WordPress sales associate, J. Stapley, for all the thankless (and thanked) work he’s done to help me get this thing set up and spinning. He’s the finest chap this side of the Thames.

  1. Nice new place ya got here Rusty (and Stapley). And welcome to your new co-bloggers. Maybe 5 heads is better than 2 after all.

  5. I love the new look! It’s so…..Nine Moonish! :-)

If you ever get sick of WordPress, email me and I’ll tell you about Textpattern.

  8. There was some issues in the port over…there will be some straitening out. Sorry.

  9. Good stuff. Susan is like the Bo Jackson of blogging. Now that she\’s a permablogger at a Mormon site, she officially does it all. Susan knows blogging.

    Tim J., Mr. The-Village-is-Shyamalan\’s-best, don\’t know jack.

  11. Ahhhh, this place feels like home!

Hey, I voted for Unbreakable like the rest of you schmo’s. I just said The Village was underrated.

  12. I like this layout a lot. Good job!

And thanks Tom. That’s probably the nicest way of calling anyone a dork I’ve ever heard. :)

  13. Guess I need to get my wordpress blog set up at srmarsh.com too.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

And yes, your new blog is readable and easy to use.

  14. Great new site Rusty. It’s hard to imagine that Geoff might be right “5 heads are better than 2″, especially when you consider the 2 heads. Actually I’m excited to welcome our new friends, now the pressure is on them.

  15. Finally, a woman’s touch is what this place needed…and 2 more guys.

Honestly,I’m happy for you guys at 9Ms and for us observers/commentors. It should be fun.

  16. Since it fits right into the personality everyone likes to stamp on me, I’m going to be the only opposing voice and say I HATE IT!! I like the old place better…and even more so, I like blogspot…for some reason.

  17. I thought Susan was moving away from the Bloggernacle.

    Comment by Kim Siever — July 31, 2006 @ 11:20 am

  18. Me too.

    Comment by Susan M — July 31, 2006 @ 1:41 pm

  19. You guys need four more bloggers. Then you won’t ever have to field questions about what your blog title means.

Well, except for the ‘moons’ part.
