East Coast Bloggasnacka

Rusty - March 29, 2007

Exactly where General Washington almost lost the Revolutionary War (the Battle of Brooklyn) before it even began, I will be hosting a bloggersnacker of revolutionary proportions. This would hopefully include all of those who have in any way been affected by said Revolutionary War (D.C. and Boston bloggers I’m looking right at you (even you DKL)) as well as those who have profited directly from its spoils (all you greedy New Yorkers).

The loyal patriot John Dehlin will be in town for a conference in May so I figured we could do it then. If we want to include John in the festivities we’ll have to do it either Sunday afternoon/evening May 20th or Wednesday evening the 23rd. If we don’t care about him (and really, who does?) then we can do it whenever it’s most convenient for us.

Let me know in the comments if you’d like to come and when is convenient. I’m trying to get this out early enough that you can plan your family trips to New York in May.

And yes, there will be cheese.

  1. A weekend day would probably be best, but I could probably make it happen anytime. I think our baby will be too new at that point to be in a crowd, so I’ll probably have to ditch the wife, which I mind less than she will, for sure. I’ll have to start saving up brownie points.

  2. Rusy, there is no doubt that Nine Moons has the most original headers in the ‘Nacle. It’s always fun to see what you’re going to come up with next.

I’m definitely interested in attending, but only if I can be included in the same category as the “greedy New Yorkers.”

  3. If I’m not setting up the projector at the chapel, I might be able to make it.

  4. Can I come wearing a hooded mask?

  5. Wish I could be there! But then I’d probably just sit in the corner playing my PSP anyway.

  6. I’d come but I’m too sensitive to be ridiculed for wearing my tie too short and not buttoning my top collar button. (sigh)

  7. I think I maybe would like to come, but I’m afraid of all of you.

  8. Emily, I have that problem too. (Also, unlike some of my sisters, I seem to live quite far away from the usual Bloggersnaker gathering places).

  9. How many of us “greedy New Yorkers” are left, anyway? It seems like there’s been a mass exodus of bloggers from our fair city.

I’ll keep the dates in mind. If the guest list is looking cool enough, maybe I’ll attend. :)

  10. I have been thinking of coming to New York to catch a show… and would love to time my trip with this. As such, I’d like to vote for a Friday or Saturday, and a couple-three weeks notice.

    : )

  11. Eve – Where are you again? If you’re close we should make a pact to go and be introverted together. You wouldn’t have to really talk to me or anything, but we could sit back to back and be less afraid. :)

  12. Will we each have to bring a laptop to communicate? You’ve got wireless right Rusty? I can see it now:

    4. Pass the cheese plate

  13. Nice header Rusty. Is that your makeup?

  14. Steve EM,
Please bring it, we don’t want want to scare the children :)

If you get a plane ticket and come out here I’ll give you a pass on the short tie. In fact, to make you feel more comfortable I’ll ask that nobody come wearing ties.

You live in Bensonhurst, how can you be afraid of us? (and who is “all of you” anyway?)

Not a good enough excuse. You’re coming.

I’ll just get President Butler to make you come.

It’s going to be tricky to set the date, especially if we want to time it with John Dehlin being here.

    5. What, are you legs broken??

    Comment by Rusty – May 20, 2007 @ 4:40pm

Just the pink and blue. The rest is my wife’s.

  15. I’d love to come, but I don’t think I can make it. I’ve got two trips planned already for this year, and that’s about all the budget can stand. Still it sounds like great fun, and I wish I could come. Someone please blog about it while it’s happening. =)

  16. So is this happening? Just curious what’s up.
