“…For the [Hatred of Women] is the Root of All Evil.”

Rusty - April 18, 2007

As I’ve grown older and wiser and more like Jesus there is one thing that I’ve learned: everything in this world revolves around women.

For instance, did you know that the reason the United States dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima was because our country hates women? No, I’m serious! And the Columbine shooters? Women haters. In fact, I just realized why I was always so bad at home teaching: I used to hate women. (You should see my numbers now that I love women!)

I mean it’s pretty obvious that everything that’s bad comes as a result of misogyny. Which makes sense, of course, when you consider that the Emancipation Proclamation, the fall of the Berlin Wall and Handel’s Messiah were all results of the love of women.

And just so you know, if you don’t agree with me you’re perpetuating the problem. If you even suggest that a woman might at some point in some instance perhaps, might overreact a teensy bit, well, all you’re doing is empowering the women-haters (which, of course means that you hate women). In other words, there are two paths, what I say and what the women-haters say, take your pick.

And if you’re a man and you don’t agree with me…well, you just don’t know what it’s like to be a woman so basically you need to shut up.

  2. Also, if you don’t believe that the Proclamation is sexist you are sexist. If you don’t believe the Church “patriarchy” is misogynistic you are a misogynist. There is no room for good, non-sexist people to disagree with our judgments.

  3. HP,
You must hate women to say something like that.

  4. Such sarcasm, Rusty. Such sarcasm…That post really got to you, didn’t it?

    Yeah, me too.

Wait. Does that make me a misogynist, too?

  5. Thanks for my morning smile Rusty ;-)

I’ve read so many posts and comments lately along these lines, I’m glad you have crystalized the problem so succinctly for me. Now it all makes sense!

  6. Man,

Thanks for the laugh. I just read through that post and was reminded why I stay away from that site. I’m still trying to figure out where they find all of this sexism on the naccle. Unless sexism = doesn’t agree with me.

  11. Hey, heres an idea. Lets all get together and chuckle and peer down our noses at those silly feminists over there. Aren’t we soooo much better than those crazy women who overreact? Those crazy man-haters are just so irrational. Typical women, thinking and stuff. Why can’t they just get with the program and fall in line?

    Comment by Veritas — April 18, 2007 @ 11:56 am

  12. Veritas-
Rusty’s reaction was indeed emotional, but what you just stated:

Hey, heres an idea. Lets all get together and chuckle and peer down our noses at those silly feminists over there. Aren’t we soooo much better than those crazy women who overreact? Those crazy man-haters are just so irrational. Typical women, thinking and stuff. Why can’t they just get with the program and fall in line?

…is basically what happened to him.

So, we can all laugh and think it’s silly, we can be offended and we can offend, but really, in the scheme of things, we’re all the same. We’re all jerks.

  13. dude, you’re just jealous about the fact of life contained in your first sentence.

    Comment by Peter LLC — April 18, 2007 @ 12:54 pm

  14. Veritas,
Re: your first four sentences: guilty as charged, for the most part. I do think a lot of silly overreaction was on display in that thread and I do think that some well-known ‘nacle feminists have a history of overreacting and unjustifiably calling people sexist. I don’t think that’s a failing of all or most feminists, but it’s a uniquely feminist failing and I like that Rusty shone the light on it by making fun of it.

Re: your last two sentences [Typical women, thinking and stuff. Why can’t they just get with the program and fall in line? ]: not guilty. Nor is any comment on this thread guilty of expressing those sentiments or anything like them.

    Comment by Tom — April 18, 2007 @ 12:58 pm

  15. In other words, yes, some of us are sneering and being mean. But we’re not being sexist.

  19. Karter,
    manhater?
I’m afraid you’re feuling the fire quite nicely. But Vertitas, so are you. Typical women, thinking and stuff.? This statement is ironically making Rusty’s point for him.

  20. I don’t think Rusty is getting enough attention. First off, he’s made the thread on FMH all about him and now he’s posted about it on his own blog. Good grief. Someone give Rusty some attention, please!

    Comment by WendyP — April 18, 2007 @ 7:26 pm

  21. Wendy,
No, you’re wrong, I’ve gotten more than enough attention today. The truth is that I wrote this post this morning, after I had made only a few comments on the FMH thread. And I wrote it for the same reason anyone writes a post, I wanted to make a point about something I’ve been thinking about. If I were doing it for attention then you’d have to say that anyone that writes a blog post does it for attention.

Secondly, I would have pointed out the hypocracy of the posters on that FMH thread whether Kaimi called me an a**hole or someone else. I wasn’t trying to make it about me at all, I was just trying to point out the hypocracy.

Wendy, if you knew me you’d know that I don’t like attention. But I do like stimulating conversations, I do like sarcasm and I’ve enjoyed both today.

  22. I certianly hate women. Then again, I am single…

    Comment by Bret — April 18, 2007 @ 11:51 pm

  23. Wendy,

You’re preaching to the choir here. We all have to pay attention to Rusty, lest he smite us with his airbrush.

Now, if you’re serious about your plea, you should post it over at T&S and other non-Rusty administered blogs.

  24. You better be careful, Rusty, or you are going to get voted “The Worst Thing About the Bloggernacle” in next year’s Niblets.

    Comment by Kurt — April 19, 2007 @ 5:10 am

  25. Yes, in fact I’m filling your name in my practice ballot right now.

I’m glad to hear that you finally realized that all things revolve around women. You’re too hot to be a woman-hater.
