The Deed Is Done

Rusty - April 29, 2005

It’s done.

I gave my thesis presentation today. I think it went really well. Now starts the decompression (and sleep). I have some ideas that I’ve been wanting to blog about but haven’t had the time to commit them to… the screen. But that will happen later. I’m going to bed.

Congratulations, Rusty, welcome to the club. Not only the black robes of a false priesthood, but the hooded robes of a false priesthood.

They did give you the secret handshake at the end of your presentation, right?

    Hey bro, congrats!

(That may be about all you get — no card, no gift, nada, because right now we’re in the midst of having a new baby and packing and moving and yes, even still interviewing… well, maybe I’ll at least give you a phone call. Maybe in a few days after you wake up!)

    Will the thesis be on-line?

Hello: I came to your blog because of the Fiske Place mention. My wife and I (we live on Carroll St.) are finishing a book on the history of Brooklyn’s street and place names. We are having a tough time with Fiske Place though are aware of a Fiske Terrace development in Ditmas Park named for the developers George and Frederick Fiske. Might you by chance have any knowledge as to the Fiske of your Fiske Place? Many, many thanks for any clues you might help with!

    Yours,

    Leonard Benardo
