MCQ was born in Falls Church, Virginia and grew up in Orange County, California and Salt Lake City. He received degrees in english and law at the University of Utah and Seattle University respectively. He has spent his professional life in Salt Lake City working in law firms both large and small and as in-house counsel to a well-known corporation. He now practices law in a small firm he recently started in Holladay, Utah. He has a startlingly beautiful long-suffering wife and two genius-level children.
